Description
How do we translate a rich video game experience on a micro-site? How can we create a destination for users to come back to visit the site over several months? Activision asked Razorfish’s creative team to create a rich interactive experience that will compliment the upcoming Bakugan video game.
The site was targeted towards 7-16 year old players with an interest in Bakugan. The imported card game and animation has become incredibly popular. We needed to make sure the site respected existing fans and prompted the upcoming video game release.
We made sure the site was very interactive. User were able to navigate and explore the space using their mouse. The site utilize Dan (the main character of the game) to explain and act as a user companion throughout the site. As users explore new sections, Dan would highlight section goals and encourage the user to visit other sections. We also mimicked the game experience by creating goals and tasks for users to accomplish while exploring. When a player has completed a task, they are rewarded with points which will unlock rewards.
• Mimicked gaming experience
• Created a Bakugan World for users to explore
• Designed a non-conventional web interaction for users to navigate the site
